Pragati Development Consulting Services Limited (PDCSL) is a consulting firm and 100% subsidiary of IMaCS. IMaCS is a consulting firm with more than 15 years of experience in executing consulting assignments across diverse sectors in India and overseas. PDCSL has been engaged by an UN Agency to provide Technical financial and human resource support to various programmes and operation in Gujarat. In this regard, PDCSL invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Management Information Systems (MIS) Consultant to provide support to Department of Women and Child Development in improving the management information system of the programme at State and District level. 


Major Tasks:-
Support software development initiatives of State for improving program monitoring in coordination with ICDS staff, Nutrition consultant, NIC, BISAG, including data validation.
Support in management of data base on different indicators like high burden districts/blocks, socially excluded groups/habitations, hard to reach areas, poor coverage of services etc.
Support in data analysis & its utilization for further improving the quality of ICDS service delivery in coordination with Nutrition Consultant.
Support in data analysis & its utilization for further improving the quality of TSC facilities in AWCs in coordination with WASH Consultant.
Develop a computer based MIS for AWTC/ MLTC in coordination with Capacity Building consultant.
Facilitate trainings of AWTC/MLTC instructors in the use of the software.
Support the development of a web enabled MIS to monitor the utilization of ICDS services in AWCs and test it in one district.
Facilitate trainings of District and Block Level officials (ICDS) in the use of the software – data entry and monitoring of utilization of services.
Review monthly reports, and share collated data to be used in periodic state-level reviews of ICDS on nutrition status of children/mothers/adolescent girls and program performance.
Support the updating of the DWCD website in coordination with IEC Consultant.
Facilitate trainings of district/block/field functionaries on critical Child Nutrition interventions (growth promotion activities, IYCF, micronutrient supplementation and implementation of new WHO Growth standards) with a special focus on social inclusion in 12 Tribal districts and monitor 8-10 AWCs each month and offer supportive supervision with a special focus on social inclusion.

Qualification and Experience:
Master’s Degree in Population Sciences/Statistics/Nutrition/Social Sciences/Social Work/Public Health
Knowledge of field surveys, statistics packages, data analysis, interpretation, presentation
Involvement in software development, desirable.
Fluency in English.
Knowledge of Gujarati (verbal and written), will be preferred.
2-3 years experience in working with government programmes - ICDS and NRHM
Proficiency in using MS- Office.
Contract Duration and Appointment: Initially for one year, but renewable. The consultant will be based at Gandhinagar with Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Gujarat. The professional fee is Rs 50,000 per month and additional support costs for travel, communications, insurance and contingencies.
